Client Introduction

Andersen Asphalt is a high-volume, asphalt maintenance contractor that really pushes the bounds of equipment and technology. Andersen Asphalt specializes in asphalt preservation and offers the full suite of services like crackseal, sealcoat (their own proprietary material), slurry seal, microsurfacing, and more. They are growing steadily at 25% a year and are on pace to do 750,000 gallons of sealcoat applied in 2023.

Andersen Asphalt has spent years using many different softwares in an attempt to find a solution that would actually simplify their end-to-end workload instead of only a portion. This included piecing together spreadsheets and other apps, to signing up for other solutions on the market, one of which they used for 2 years begrudgingly.

Andersen Asphalt was immediately interested in Bitumio when we reviewed the dashboard and job costing. Really understanding their profit and cost numbers was something the other platforms and processes never really allowed. They really wanted to ensure they were being as efficient as possible to achieve the margins they desired. From there, the Bitumio mobile app and in-field communication was a game changer to better streamline their operations and improve employee engagement. 

 

The Process

Bitumio manages their full end-to-end operations from the time a lead calls in or submits a form on their website to the time the job is completed and invoiced. Their goal was to have a single platform that not only consolidates their current processes for time savings, but to also have a solution that enables them to win more business and continue to grow.

The Result

Andersen Asphalt has successfully been able to centralize their entire team into a platform that really simplifies each step, from Office Admins to Estimators to Foreman and Owners. 

 

Prior to Bitumio, the scheduling feature within the software Andersen Asphalt was using was clunky and challenging. Because of this, they reverted to using a whiteboard instead of software. 

 

 

 

Bitumio Mobile App

Now, all scheduling is input onto the Bitumio calendar and color coordinated by crew. This calendar is distributed out to the teams in the Bitumio mobile app with all necessary job details.

 

Prior to Bitumio, when putting together an estimate in the field, the estimators would screen shot any measurements or images, send them to the Office Manager and ask her to attach to the proposal. Now estimates can be done in the field with all images attached and quickly sent to the customer. Bitumio has cut the time it takes to create an estimate by 50% because of the automation and simplicity.
